19 Feb. 23 | How do you make time for leisure, pleasure, imagination and daydreaming?
Hello,
This is the last note (for now) on the theme of rest, specifically rest as resistance.
How has your relationship with rest changed over the past few weeks since working with the journaling prompts?
What new discoveries have you made about yourself?
What are you noticing?
I am noticing that I am more conscious of creating space for rest. Some days that is laying on my bed listening to Lofi Beats, perhaps reading. On other days it is having a nap or a long soak in the bath.
These are all things I did before reading Rest is Resistance, however, I am now much more intentional about making time for rest on a daily basis.
I have also installed an app on my phone that restricts me from accessing most apps after a certain time in the evening. I’ve also set the app to block my access to certain apps (e.g. email) in the morning until after I’ve started work and I’ve restarted morning meditation.
I hope that through February’s notes, you have been able to foster a healthier relationship with rest and that you can clearly see the benefits of deep rest, daydreaming and expanding your imagination.
